Botanical name:Euphorbia milii

This woody shrub will grow 1'-4' tall and has brown gray stems with bright green leaves and bright red flowers on top. It is covered with long sharp thorns. It will do well in partial shade to full sun and dry soil. Crown of Thorns can be espaliered or grown in containers. It can be grown indoors if given bright light. It tolerates coastal conditions well.

This Bird of Paradise is an upright, fast growing small tree or large shrub, 10' tall by 8' wide. Clusters of yellow flowers have long red stamens. Natural growth habit is irregular and open, but can be pruned to encourage dense growth. It is quite hardy and can be frost tolerant. As pods mature, they split spewing seeds. Ripe seeds are poisonous. It may be somewhat invasive but it is easy to control. This plant is drought tolerant.

New Gold Trailing Lantana

Botanical name:Lantana 'New Gold'

This reliable groundcover/shrub blooms periodically throughout the year with gold colored flowers. Blooms attract butterflies. Lantana forms a dark green mound up to 18" tall and 3' wide. It prefers deep, infrequent watering and occasional pruning. It may suffer from frost damage but it recovers quickly. It is root hardy and susceptible to whiteflies.
